Man, there are a lot of words that you read, that you don't even notice... I'm glad you broke these down for us. The one that stuck out the most to me was Intrinsic... they grilled that into our heads in undergraduate school at Roberts Wesleyan. Instrinsic motivation is better defined as a students ability to accomplish something because they "want" to. Versus extrinsic motivation where the student only completes tasks because they know they will get a reward for it. That is why it is so important for us as teachers to chill... in terms of candy and food, and reward them with more meaningful educational experiences.
