The Dreamkeepers
"Education, like electricity, needs a conduit, a teacher, through which to transmit its power- i.e., the discovery and continuity of information, knowledge, wisdom, experience, and culture. Through the stories and experiences of eight successful teacher-transmitters, The DreamKeepers keeps hope alive for educating young African Americans."

Essence Extractor Chap. 1-5--Meredith O.
Teachers need to notice the differences to get equality.
Wow... I love this! So true, because many times teachers what everyone to talk the same, act the same, be one the same educational level etc. just because that would be so much easier. That's just not the way it is. I love diversity... meeting new people, and learning about their culture, but I can see how this presents it's difficulties. Hopefully, when I get my own classroom, I will take that extra time to "showcase" the other cultures in a manner that is fair and does not elevate one over another.
Take the time to notice...even when we as teachers have "SO" much on our plates throughout every minute of every day!!! Thanks for rhe reminder.
